Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A comeback the Russian player won his initial title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.

It is his first trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from spring of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one different competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to question if his ability to play at the top level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.

He defended four initial chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
